MEMBERSHIP MATTERSWe welcome a new member: Several existing members have yet to renew their membership. I do hope you will - SCARS needs your support and the armchair variety is still appreciated. Not that we wouldn't welcome some more committee members, the rest of us feel rather stretched and there are times when we simply can't send anyone to represent SCARS at events or meetings because there aren't enough of us. Cynthia Greenall Sales StallThe Sales Team has been out twice so far this year. The Willow Park Craft Fair at Spring Bank Holiday was very busy and as usual, a good fund raiser. St Helens Council allocated us a charity stall at the Festival on 4/5 July. This was a good opportunity to reach out to the crowds that attended, even if our most captive audience was sheltering under the awning from a cloudburst! People parted with their money to such an extent that the remaining sales stock looks pitiful. Thanks to our regular readers, lots of books have come in during the past months but if anyone has any bric-a-brac or toys to donate now, or in the next few weeks, I'd be most grateful. Our next show is the IWA National Festival & Boat Show on 29/31 August (leaflet enclosed) and that will be closely followed by two local events. The stall will be out for at least another six days before the end of September and with our reputation of "all good stuff" to uphold, any contributions to the sales stock will be really appreciated.
