RESTORATION PHOTOGRAPHS

The JCB moved tons of spoil for our Work Party to gain better access to the cottage's remains

After the machine, it's back to our more usual equipment - shovel and wheel-barrow

Now that we've uncovered the lock, it's all ready to be restored... (See descriptions of this work - and an account of the visit of the Chairman of BW to the site)

BW Chairman George Greener sizes up the lock's restoration prospects during his visit to the Sankey on October 3rd.

Our Chairman points out a jewel on the Sankey's course - where the first passenger railway crosses the first modern canal

The party, with Councillors & Officers from the three Boroughs, the Chairman-to-be of the IWA, and SCARS members, line up with Dr. Greener against the background of the Sankey Viaduct
