By bus (arranged through the Transport Museum) from the Groundwork Trust, St Helens (leaving 10am) to Bunbury.
Then walk down the Shropshire Union Canal, through Beeston, Christleton etc. to Chester, for 5pm bus trip back.
Distance - about 13 miles, passing by twelve canal locks. Cost: about £5.
