To keep our flag flying SCARS entered a team in the St. Helen’s Corporate Cup again this year. Our stalwarts - Peter Keen, Brendan Cassin, “Andrea” Bloor, and Dave Callan, put in a creditable performance to finish 16th out of the 29 charity teams entered. Brendan and Andrea finished in top-class times of 25 minutes, and 25 minutes, 5 seconds.

George vigorously rebuffed accusations of cheating by by-passing the second loop of the figure-of-eight course, insisting that he followed the sign-posted route to record his best ever time for 5 kilometres of 29 minutes, 44 seconds. He admitted, however, to being surprised at the large numbers of late entries speeding past him in the latter stages of the course. Dave ghosted along with George to be credited with the same time.
