EDITOR'S NOTE:

As readers can see, this is a bumper issue of CANAL CUTTINGS... and is actually on time! The material came hot-foot down the Internet lines shortly before I went off canalling for my holidays - much to my relief. I'm very grateful to all those who responded to my appeals for more material for the Newsletter - but I hope you haven't run out of items for future issues!

I also hope that others in the Society may be stirred into contributing to their Newsletter - there seems to be plenty of subjects for discussion in this Issue.

An added bonus - I've not had to provide my usual quota of "fillers"...
